The video for "Flashing Lights" has a deeper meaning that the average can make of it, says Playmate Rita G, who stars in the video that leaked on the net a few weeks ago. Rita told sources that Kanye is ahead of his time with this one, and while most are looking at her ass in the video, people in higher positions will see something different. Sources say Ne-Yo was in a bit of a hurry as he raced through Cobb County, GA. I am sure police would have let Ne Yo go with a warning or a traffic citation, until they discovered that the R&B singer did not have a valid license. Ne Yo was arrested for reckless driving and driving without valid license on February 19.

Hot Boys cancelled?

As fans gathered at Club Dreams in New Orleans to witness the Hotboys and Mannie Fresh to reunite, the event was cancelled. Shortly after midnight, before any of the artists had arrived at the venue, bullets were fired that sent three people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All are expected to recover, and as for the reunion, sources say it will still take place, at a later date.

Remy court date is getting closer

Lawyers for Remy hope the assault case is thrown out for lack of DNA evidence. The DNA results of the evidence taken from the victims vehicle were of Makeda Barnes-Joseph, which didn't take a genius to discover, but prosecution was hoping for a different spin. Remy's lawyer states the biggest obstacle is Makeda was shot, but the who, what, when, where, and why is what they expect to address when the case finally goes to trial. The judge has not set a tentative date and Remy still faces charges for witness intimidation.

Kim Kardashian being sued by Ray J's Mom?!

Now the story is coming together. Ray J and Brandy's mother, Sonja Norwood filed a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian for allegedly using her credit card and charging over $120K. Apparently when Kim worked as a stylist, Sonja gave her permission to use the credit card for one purchase only. The lawsuits claims that Kim let members of her family use the credit card spent over $62K in 2006 and $57K in 2007. Why the card was not cancelled after Sonja didn't receive the card back after that initial first purchase she allowed is beneath me, but the Kardashians told sources the charges are meritless, and they look forward to proving that in court.

In a major upset The NY Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl 42 and this would bring them their 3rd Super Bowl in their franchise history and believe me last night New York was in an uproar of joy! People running out their houses and apartments hunking horns, chanting phrases of praises to our NY G's bring New York some satisfaction for the year! The parade for our Super Bowl champs will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, February 4). All I can say is that I told all my friends who were going for the Patriots that they was going to lose. Sorry Pats fans better luck next year, the slogan for the year is 18-1. It's not Randy Moss like my man Ant Butler said its "Randy Loss"!!

Forbes has released the Top 20 Cash Queens of Music, with Madonna coming in at number one with $72M. Our girl Beyonce is number five on that list with $27M from her deals with L'Oreal, American Express, and Samsung. Followed by Gwen Stefani with $26M and Christina Aguilera with $20M. Further down the line, Mariah Carey came in at number ten with $13M and JLo with $6M. On another list for Powerful Girls, Raven Symone raked in $400M with her Disney TV series, "That's So Raven".

Paris Hilton gets the boot from 50 Cent

Ok so a report has been made that at the 944 Magazine pre-Super Bowl party 50 Cent kicked Paris Hilton off the stage. It was said that 50 shouted out Paris a little earlier in the performance and she took it as an invite to get on stage and dance with 50, that's where she went wrong. As you can see in the video 50 quickly kicked her ass off the stage LMFAO!! Another funny moment by your man Curtis Jackson, kudos to you!

Lil Wayne in legal trouble?!

Prosecutors with the Yuma County Attorney’s Office formally charged Lil Wayne with felony drug and weapons charges today (January 25) in a Wellton, Arizona court.



Despite the rapper’s well documented drug use, he was officially charged with possession of a narcotic for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and misconduct involving a weapon.



The rapper’s tour bus was stopped Tuesday morning (January 22) at a U.S. Border Patrol near Dateland, Arizona, which is over 75 miles from Yuma.

Uncle Murder shot

Roc-A-Fella artist Leonard Grant known as Uncle Murda (27), was shot in the head around 10:30pm during a shooting on Linden Blvd. While sitting in a parked car in the East New York area of Brooklyn, Grant was grazed by a bullet that hit his head. Sources say he was hospitalized briefly before checking himself out the following day.The bullet caused minor injuries and reports have also that he called up Wendy Williams show on the NY radio station WBLS and stated that he was recovering nicely using "Hennessey and cigarettes to ease the pain. Said like a true G, Murda intends to release his debut album on Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam records some time this year.

Joe Budden getting ready to come back

With his latest mixtape Mood Muzik 3 still scheduled for a retail release on February 26, New Jersey rapper Joe Budden has announced that he is partnering up with Boston-based indie label Amalgam Digital to release his official sophomore album Padded Room. Atlantic drops Lil Kim

Lil Kim has reportedly been released from her contract with Atlantic Records. In a recent article, BillAtboard.com cites her comments during an appearance on DJ Kay Slay’s Shade45 radio show “Streetsweeper Radio” as confirmation of the split. During the interview, Kim noted that she harbors no ill feelings towards the label but is eager to release her next album independently. The diminutive Brooklyn MC is rumored to be in negotiations with Imperial Records, the independent division of Capitol Music Group that Fat Joe is currently signed to. While Billboard was unable to confirm the move with any of Kim’s representatives, she did state that she feels prepared to work her next project without the backing of a major label. Her last full length project was 2005’s The Naked Truth, which has scanned 394,000 copies to date according to Nielsen Soundscan. R&B singer, Ushers father, Usher Raymond III passed away last Friday at an Atlanta hospital for reasons unreleased at this time, according to People. Funeral arrangements have been made to take place this week in Chattanooga, TN. Usher recently became a father himself and it was his wish to have a son to carry out the family as his father did, making his new born son, Usher Raymond V.

An Unlikely Alliance

Rap star Beanie Sigel generated talk of a different kind during Philadelphia’s Peace Week 2007, when he walked hand-in-hand with actor/comedian Bill Cosby, during an anti-crime march.



The pair, who marched alongside each other on Thursday (December 20), spoke earlier that day to 30 at risk youths at William Penn High School in Philadelphia.



The event allowed Sigel the opportunity to help direct youth towards positive options that he was not able to fully utilize.

Remy can't shake the law

After being denied access to Europe by the Manhattan Supreme Court Judge on December 20th (Thursday) another suit is being brought against the BX rapper.

Judge Denies Remy Ma’s Request to Travel to Europe

Attorney Ivan Fisher told the court that his client has had trouble booking shows and a recording contract has been put on hold since her arrest for allegedly shooting Makeda Barnes-Joseph on July 14. The tour, which was to kick off in Paris on December 31, would have brought the rapper $35-40,000 according to Fisher. On December 5, Justice Uviller ruled that Remy must stand trial on additional charges of witness intimidation and gang assault after she allegedly asked two men to beat up a witness in the shooting case. Shooting Victim Sues Remy Ma, Universal Records

The woman who says Remy Ma shot her in the abdomen in front of a Manhattan pizzeria last July, filed suit against the rapper and Universal Records on Friday (December 21). According to Reuters, Makeda Barnes-Joseph’s suit, filed today in Manhattan federal court, claims that Remy “wilfully, wantonly and maliciously” shot and injured her, causing “severe physical harm and mental anguish.” The suit also names Universal Records and Sure Shot Recordings, two of the rapper’s record labels, claiming that they encouraged her to engage in violence as part of her image. Barnes-Joseph is seeking $10 million in damages. Just yesterday, the judge in Remy’s criminal trial denied her request to travel outside of the country for a European tour. Joe Budden Back with a vengance

The new year is gearing up to be an eventful one for Joe Budden fans, as the rapper will release the official retail version of his long-awaited project Mood Muzik 3: The Album on Amalgam Digital.



For Budden, the partnership with the independent record/digital label represents the perfect opportunity to make a bigger impact on rap fans.



"With the Mood Muzik series gaining mass attention, this is just our effort to maximize on awareness," Budden said in a statement.



"Amalgam understands our vision, as we do theirs, so this will be first of many ventures to come. We have a full length album entitled Padded Room coming second quarter 2008. We're prepping for a big year…are you in the mood yet?"

Bow Wow & Omarion don't break top ten in album debuts

I don’t think I’ve done one of these stories where I mock a rapper for debuting low on the Billboard charts since the summer of ‘06 (back then, it was shocking to see so many prominent rappers selling 60,000 copies their first week out), but you know something’s gone horribly wrong with the world when more people would rather listen to Bow Wow and the motherfucking Birdman than the Wu-Tang Clan.

Yep, the number’s for last week - probably the last really big week for these 4th Quarter rap albums, unless I’m forgetting something - are in, and the shit’s downright depressing. The week’s highest-selling hip-hop-related debut was Bow Wow and Omarion’s Face Off, which sold about 107,000 copies - which wasn’t quite enough to crack the top 10. Actually, I suppose that could be viewed as good news, in the sense that those guys’ careers are obviously in decline. I mean, if that’s the best the two of them together could do - during the big holiday shopping season, even.

R.I.P. PIMP C

UGK group member Chad "Pimp C" Butler was found dead in room at the Mondrian Hotel today around 9:00 am PST, after members of the rapper’s family contacted the Sunset Strip property to report the artist missing.



In a statement released by the Mondrian, the hotel received several calls this morning from concerned family members inquiring about Butler’s whereabouts.



"Security personnel went to Mr. Butler’s room and found him in bed, apparently expired," Gerald McKelvy, a spokesman for the hotel told AllHipHop.com. "A 911 call was placed at about 9:20 AM and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced Mr. Butler dead."



The Los Angeles County Sherriff’s office has confirmed that their homicide department is currently investigating the scene, which, according to LASD PR Liason Dept. Oscar Butao, is standard procedure whenever a victim is found who did not die of natural causes.

The New Sidekick LX & Sidekick Slide

It has been long awaited and with all different types of Sidekick versions everyone asks, when is the Sidekick 4 coming out? Well to answer this question rumor has it that the Sidekick 4 is set to come out sometime in January 08 but T Mobile is releasing the new generation of sidekick with their release of the Sidekick LX. In the year of 2008 T Mobile seems to be dropping several different type of sidekicks to add to the sidekick family. A Sidekick X, Sidekick 4, SidekickRAZR, and Sidekick Shuriken are supposed to all drop sometime in 08 but there isnt any photos on any of these models as of yet. The Sidekick Slide and the Sidekick LX have been mistaken for the Sidekick 4 they're not. The Sidekick LX is set to drop Oct. 17th for T Mobile customers, Oct. 24th to everyone else and its been heard that the phone will be $299 with a 2 year contract which will probably have the phone retail $499 without a plan at all. The Sidekick Slide is set to drop Nov. 7th $199 with a 2 year contract $399 without a plan at all. The Sidekick LX will come in midnight blue (same shade as the T Mobile wing) and expresso brown. The new kick will feature myspace application (sidekick Id's have received this update in their download catalog already but T Mobile has said that 3's should have this update by at least Oct. 7th) as well as the tradition Aim, MSN, and Yahoo. It allows emailing (up to 4 accounts), has a MicroSD slot, a 1.3 mp camera with flash, 6.8 hrs of talk time, and 4 days of stand by time. OK, so here you have Mobb Deep's own Havoc on video talking to whoever, before the whole Saigon incident at SOB's, fronting for the camera and he goes to tell Kanye West to "Eat a Dick" but then tries to say that he respects Kanye. I don't know how that works, when you disrespect someone but then say that you respect them but ok. Anyway to make it even more entertaining, Havoc shows off his chain and then goes on to say that he's not spending no more money on jewelry because he spent so much money on that one chain. Now, with that being said this proof that obviously Havoc isn't seeing that much money but you want to come at Kanye doesn't make much sense to me.
