After enduring years of false starts and label politics, New York MC Jae Millz has signed a new deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment imprint. Weezy announced the signing during a recent performance in New Jersey when he called out to the Harlem lyricist from the stage. Millz made first drew attention as a ruthless competitor on the underground battle scene before releasing the single “No, No, No” through Warner Bros./Wanna Blow Entertainment in 2003. Although he enjoyed a healthy buzz from the single, his debut LP, Back to the Future never saw the light of day. Remy Trail set to start
Remy Ma’s trial on assault and related charges for allegedly shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the stomach last July is set to begin next week. According to the Associated Press, the state Supreme Court justice overseeing the proceedings has set March 6 as the date to begin jury selection in the case. The Bronx MC stands accused of shooting Barnes-Joseph during an argument over $2000. She was initially charged with attempted murder, but prosecutors reduced the charge when they discovered that the weapon fired accidentally. She was later indicted on witness tampering charges after she allegedly ordered a group of men to assault the boyfriend of a potential witness. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
